THE THRIVES
The Thrives are an indie rock band from Harrisburg, PA. The three members, David Kemper (vocals/guitar), John Bolling (bass), and Kevin Daboin (drums), have been family for quite some time. John and David have shared a friendship for 12 years, having met in school. They immediately began writing and playing music together with and without John's nephew, Brad, but in the fall of 2004 they finally decided to pull it together and start something new. Initially, with Rick Batley on lead guitars, they formed a group called The Flies. After 8 months of gigging and recording a demo, Batley decided to pursue both a career and fatherhood, leaving the band a trio. They changed the name to The Thrives and continued local gigs throughout the area. In the spring of 2006, they recorded a 6-song EP entitled "All Rockets." Now Bradley had left to play in another band, and Kevin Daboin had joined the band, adding a whole new professional quality to their music. Give them a chance. The Thrives guarantee they will rock your socks off.

Now you can communicate with other listeners while you're listening to Distortion Radio. We just launched our brand new pop-up player, which you can check out here. It gives you the ultimate listening experience by combining the live audio stream with a chat box and now playing section that automatically refreshes on song change. You'll see what's playing as you hear it, and if you want more info about the song or artist, it's just a click away. The player is available in both 128k and 64k streams, which can be selected and switched instantly within the player itself.
