Some say that it is impossible to build something as great as the ancient city of Rome in a day. However, Building Rome In A Day has done just that. Fusing the talents and musicianship of players Matt Aaron, Jason Muir, Greg Shoup, Alex Faust, and Christian Coffey, the quintet have created a sound that can only be described as explosive. When asked about their musical direction, a simple answer could not be formulated. As Matt Aaron states, “We’re all huge fans of everything from 1980’s arena rock through 90’s pop and today’s hip-hop, so when we write, it’s not like we’re going for a certain sound as other bands may try to accomplish, we simply pull from our inspirations, infuse these genres, and the end result is what you see as Building Rome in a Day. ... I believe that’s truly evident when the listener is exposed to our music as it’s unique and experimental enough to differentiate us from bands we might typically be associated with, but not too abstract for the group’s fans.” Placing their hearts, souls, ideas, and linguistics into everything that emanates from their respective instruments, it is no wonder this group has quickly exploded into a driving force that will leave fans in awe both on stage and through the group’s recordings. “We aren’t that political and we aren’t that controversial. We simply attempt to write the most melodic and catchy songs we can while remaining true to our roots as an intimate band while personally connecting to each of our fans. In the past year, Building Rome in a Day has shared the stage with notable bands such as Halifax, A Static Lullaby, A Thorn for Every Heart, Take the Crown, Everdae, Of Hearts and Shadows, Showbread and many more. Building Rome in a Day is quickly becoming a household name as they race from coast to coast and over both ponds into the collective minds of the youth today. It is only evident that Building Rome in a Day will be a band to look for in 2007.
