Spoil Engine. Or how to drop a bomb with style. This 5-piece metalband from Belgium started out in 2004, combining 90’s metal influences such as Pantera and Machine Head with post modern heaviness and soundscapes. After a 4-track promo was released in 2006, Spoil Engine recorded their first full album ‘Skinnerbox v.07’ in 2007. This album immediately displayed the band’s pro ambition and vision and led them to appearances on Graspop and support acts for bands such as Volbeat, Arch Enemy, Sepultura and Prong. A new scene standard for metal ambition was set. In 2009, the album ‘Antimatter’ was recorded, with a focus on overall sound, production and songwriting. Plain metal for the masses, the ultimate goal. After hearing the first pre-production tracks, ... Roadrunner Records (Nickelback, Korn, Slipknot,…) got hooked by this young energetic metalband and signed them shortly afterwards. They became the 1st Belgian metalband on Roadrunner in more than 20 years. The first single ‘Breathe’ has just been released; their latest album ‘Antimatter’ was released the end of summer 2009.
